Located in a historic landmark ("The Mud House" built in 1792), "The Kennon House" is a Lake Gaston destination and outstanding dining experience featuring upscale comfort food with a special flair. Managing Owner, Dennis Monds, with executive chef, Nick Sitzanis, and staff will welcome you warmly. In addition to the charming "red room" for menu service in a more intimate setting with soft lighting and white table linens, the Kennon House also has a small bar area, and a separate, more casual buffet room accented with a huge fireplace that is open on weekends — and when they host a "Grand Buffet" for special occasions such as Easter Sunday, Mother's Day, and Thanksgiving.

The Kennon House can accommodate larger groups in private dining areas upon special request; please call ahead to arrange. Also if you are thinking of visiting during busy seasonal weekends, it is recommended that you call ahead for reservations. When you visit, be sure to ask about the history of The Kennon House. They love to share the story and proud to be part of its legacy!

Their very talented Chef Nick is proud of the award-winning reputation he has earned. His style and talents are reflected in the offerings below from the 2012 Winter Menu. If there is a dish you would like that is not on the menu, they will do their best to accommodate your special request. All meals come with their signature homemade southern yeast rolls. Plus they take special pride in making their own salad dressings. You will also have a variety of wines to choose from including Rosemont (local Lake Gaston winery), beer, and mixed drinks.
